.mp4s causing Quicktime Player to Freeze
I just upgraded to Vegas 9 and I am having a problem with files encoded as MainConcept AVC/AAC (.mp4) – Apple iPod Video: 640×480 Template
The files will play just fine, but when I attempt to scroll through the video, Quicktime Player stalls. The longer the video – the longer the stall. A 45 minute .mp4 will cause Quicktime Player to freeze for nearly 5 minutes.
The files play fine in VLC player, and they still render out fine on my machine in Vegas 6. What is 9 doing differently? I have upgraded Quicktime Player and tried playing it on multiple machines with the same result.
We syndicate our 45 minute podcasts through iTunes so it is a necessity that they play in Quicktime Player. Has anyone come across this? Is there any setting I can change?
