Wonder if anyone else has had an issue like this:

I have a fairly basic timeline with Windows Media clips, an mp3 file, a .png file and some ProTitler texts. Pretty much it.

Vegas keeps hanging on me. It seems when I go to ‘undo'(ctl-z) or try to delete a clip from the timeline it either immediately gives me the finger – I mean, gives me the “not responding” in the window bar at the top. I also notice, primarily when trying to undo that the Vegas progress bar says 0% and never gets past it – basically hangs. When I go to Task Manager in that case it doesn’t not have Not Responding – Vegas is clocking 97-99% but nothing is happening or clickable.

The kicker is that I took the project to another system with XP and also had some issues. Like I said, pretty basic project. I even removed some .MOV files I thought could be the problem but no fix.

Undo or delete makes it hang everytime. Pulling hair out. Any ideas to try??

    Vegas Pro 9c (build 865)- 64-bit
    Dell XPS with i7 920 (2.67GHz), 12GB Ram, Windows7 Home Premium 64-bit.

    Windows Media files are 2Mbit, 640×480, audio 128Kbps, 44KHz

    Thanks!

I am having the same problem, need to finish a project within days. Using Windows 7 with Vegas 9c, every time I try to grab a mpg file it hangs up. I can work with avi no problem. Have the same issue with DVDA 5, wondering if it is Windows 7. I went back to my old computer that runs Vista, works like a dream. Really like Windows 7, but I really need to get my work done also.

    Hi Larry.

It does seem like lots of people are having problems with the combination of 9.0 and Windows 7. (In fact, that is the main thing that has stopped me from upgrading to Win 7.)

I am on Build 896 here, and there is probably a newer one. Just to try it, you might want to download the latest version of 9.0c; and if that does not work, I think I would report the problem to Sony, and then roll back to Vista. It seems to work well enough.

But that’s just me. You might want to do something different.
