Subtitling and Translation suggestions
We have a need to add subtitles with foreign language translations to training videos I’ve produced in Vegas. Does anyone have a suggestion for products and/or workflows that would efficiently permit the addition of these subtitles by third parties who otherwise may not be skilled in video editing?
Presently, I render the overall video to an uncompressed AVI, then render that output to Flash before posting on our corporate site. One of the challenges we’ll have is to render to a compressed format, then hand the compressed format to a third party (one who knows how to speak Spanish, for example). I would then have to take their final compressed video, with subtitles, and render that to Flash. Obviously this will result in some loss of resolution, but we can live with a certain amount of that.
Any suggestions would be welcome. Thanks in advance,

Render it with timecode and have the translator use those numbers when they write down what should be said at a specific time.
They give you back an MS Word document with relevant timecode numbers and appropriate speech.
Fire up Vegas or DVDA and do a copy/paste from Word at each specific location.This is my workflow when I have to subtitle a video I’ve produced and I have no clue about the subject matter.
The content expert views a timecoded version of it, writes the subtitle script and I copy/paste his/her words into DVDA at the appropriate times.
