    Hi

I want to turn the audio volume up ie peoples voices, noises etc at one point in the time line so that you can hear it above the music track.
I have figured out to add an envelope and points and raise the volume but no matter what try it you cant hear it.
I guess there must be some thing in the settings that i have overlooked, does anyone have any ideas or experience with this?
I have been searhing this forum for the last few days but have had no luck.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks

Hi John thanks for your reply,

I ended up using that “ducking” technique which was great in that i was able to finish the project but i really need to be able to raise the voice volume.

    Any thoughts?

The Audio level is pretty reasonable if played normally ie; i have it at about -26db (but i’d rather have it right down because after i rendered it, it was actually louder and some noise came through) so that you cant hear the background noise but anything above that and it can get really loud. Yet still even when i put the volume right up on the evvelope it doesnt change at all despite the volume control physically moving as it hits the “non” event. I’ve tried putting in points and raising that in each direction aswell.

any further ideas would be amazing!

    Thanks again

Are you saying that raising the volume doesn’t work at all, or that raising the volume also raises the background noise which is a different problem entirely.

Can you post a sample of the audio so that we can hear it? If not, can you send me a small MP3 file that shows the problem? My email is on my web site (johnrofrano.com).

    Thanks for your reply!

Raising the volume when using a voulume evvelope in the middle red segmant on the timeline ie voices background noises etc does not raise the volume.
I need to raise it so i can hear voices etc along with the music on one seg, mant of the timeline where it is otherwise down so that you cant hear it.

When i raise the whole red part of the timeline from the volume control on the left it works fine and gos quite loud.

I wish I could send you those samples but i only have 56k internet speed and windows ME at the moment lol.

    Thanks again

If the volume slider works then are you sure that you are using a volume envelope? It should behave exactly the same.

You could always add an audio track and cut that section out and place it on the other audio track and use the volume slider in the track header. Whatever works.

What version of Vegas are you running on Windows Me?

Yup its definatly a volume envelope, i used shift v on one part of the timeline, raised the volume on it with the slider bar, tried using points on it and it doesnt change the volume at all.

okay thanks that sounds difficult but ill try that.

    Thanks again!
