Rendering Problems
I’m trying to render my video in HDV 720-30p (1280×720, 29.970 fps) but when I get to the “Render as” page and go to the drop down menu and try to select WMV the description box goes grey and reads “No existing templates support this media.” When I click custom and try to change the template when I fill all the boxes with stuff and click OK an error message pops up and reads “The custom template you selected is not valid with the current project settings. It has been filtered out of the template list.” And then the box goes grey again. Then when you attempt to click “save” it reads “There is not template available for this format” I have tried other versions of this program. It might be the Codac’s, not exactly sure. I have the K-lite Codec Pack (full) and Microsoft’s .net 1.1,2.0,3.0,3.5 and 3.5 Compact. I searsolly need help so anything would be great, thanks in advance!!

You don’t need any codec paks to render WMV. Make sure that you have the latest Windows Media Player 11 installed if you are using Vegas Pro 9.0 or WMP 10 for Vegas pro 8.
If that doesn’t work, try uninstalling the K-lite Codec Pack or going back to a previous backup from before you installed it. Codec paks are great for home theater systems but often trouble for video editing systems. It is possible that this is conflicting with Vegas which does need any of it to render to WMV.

I can reneder 1080i to WMV, with all the normal templates, from 1080, 720P down to 28.8 kbts, So I would try what John said and remove the K-lite codec. You can send me a small sample of your 720P video and let me see what I can get. danhays2004@yahoo.com

I’v tried uninstalling the K-lite and trying to render without in on my comp, then reinstalling the program and tring to render it, doesent make a difference. Thanks for reply anyways
