I had a recording of a speaker today. Off my mixer it sounded A OK, but now I have it captured and 1 of the mic’s was to sensative. The problem is I was mixing them all together in the mixer.

Is there anything I can do with Vegas audio FX that I can use to help make this sound better?

If there was digital clipping (i.e., the tops of the audio waves are cut off) the information is gone forever. You can try a tool like iZotope RX Declipper and sometimes it can rebuild the peaks but quite often it is not repairable.

If you are recording mono, you should always record one channel lower than the other so that you have a lower channel to fall back on. I do this on both my field recorder and my camera and it has been a life saver at times.
