    Hello,

I have Sony Vegas 8.0 Pro, I know it’s not ideal but sometimes I need to edit MP4’s.

I can import MP4’s but when inserted on the timeline the audio track/stream is not loaded, in fact when I check the file attributes of an MP4 it says that the audio stream can not be read.

Can anyone tell me how I can fix this? I’m sure it’s a codec issue, but I’m not sure which codec(s) I need to install, and how Vegas can read it.

    Many thanks for your support.

Where did you get the MP4’s from? What files extensions do they have? Depending on where they are from they can use a variety of audio codecs. You might try opening one in the QuickTime Player and use the Movie Inspector (Ctrl+I) to see what codecs are being used That should tell you what you need to install.
