    Anyone have this problem?

The clips work and are fully functional, the preview window functions as normal. Everything is working as it should be; however, nothing appears on the timeline. I have 3GB of Dynamic RAM Dedicated to the Vegas process alone, so I’d like to think it’s not computer resources. This only recently started happening once the project got to be so large. I’ve tried opening other projects, and to no avail. Restarted the computer, closed all processes except Vegas, just about everything I can think of. I’m out of ideas so I’m asking you guys, “Any ideas?” Something I could search the web for? I’m all ears.

    Thanks in advance!

Are you saying that when you drag a video event from project media to the time line that nothing deposits there. You have a blank timeline?

When I drop the media on the timeline, there is no “mini-preview”, for lack of a better word. The media functions are normal, I just can’t see what clip is being edited. It’s as if I just dropped a bunch of blank AVI’s onto it.

If you look at the screenshot, the timeline is nothing but a bunch of empty squares, whereas there should be some sort of indication as to which particular clip you’re editing. It’s very confusing to try and edit with the timeline like this.

I am not at my editing box right now so I can’t tell you exactly where but there is a setting somewhere that controls what you see on the time line from nothing (like it sounds like you have) to continuous updated frames.

With that busy project it’s hard to even tell what the problem is. Start a new project in the default layout and just drag a pattern to it.

    where’s your preview window?

    Alt + 4

also, make sure VIEW / WAVEFORMS AND FRAMES is turned on (CTRL + SHIFT + W)

    🙂

I am seeing something like this in Pro 9b. The timeline shows the video content only at the beginning and end of a clip. Prior to version 9, it showed the video content of all the frames. Now, most of what is seen is a blank screen.

    to quote Mike:

    Options – Prefs – Video.
Thumbnails to show in video events is the box to change your options in.
