  • Audio disappears on nested Veg files

I have a feature-length that I’m working on right now that exists as a bunch of Vegas files all compiled into one master project. Recently, some of my audio has been disappearing strangely. The audio in the original project file is fine, but now (on a fast, new computer with Win7 and Vegas 9 32 bit) if I edit any of the nested files on their own and save them, when the audio proxy is rebuilt, the audio completely disappears. It is still connected, but it’s just as if there’s no audio in them, it’s two channels with nothing in them. I open the project up just to make sure everything’s okay, and it is, but if they’re nested (even into an empty project file), the audio disappears. Something to do with a slightly updated Vegas?

    Ideas?

    Thanks,

    Aaron

SOLVED: I just deleted the audio proxy files and it rebuilt them properly. Wonder why it kept doing that. Hope I don’t have to keep doing this workaround.

How do you delete the proxy files?

I downloaded Vegas Pro 9 as a trial to see if it would fix some issues from 8.1

I brought in a .veg file and worked on it with 9. Now it won’t open back up in 8.1, even if I reassociate the .veg extensions.

Also, the audio files related to iTunes I imported are not going “online” when I load the project in 9.

    Please help!

    Jeff
