Invisible video clip
Ok, I am trying to make an AMV (Anime Music Video) and already had about 15 seconds done. I opened it yesterday and inserted another episode into the timeline further down, took pieces from it and dragged them to my video to edit it all together, adding about 5 more seconds to the video. Today, I open it to work some more and find that the 5 seconds of video I added were… blank. In the preview window they were black and the little pictures on the clips were gone. I scroll over to the episode further in the timeline and it was the same deal. The video and pieces from it had completely gone blank. But, I could insert the same episode again and that would play fine – so it’s not the video file. Then I found out it wasn’t just black but it was… see-through, as if the video clip had been muted (but it’s not).
So the pieces and the episode they came from have been wiped, but only what’s on the timeline. But, the pieces from other episodes work just fine. I could just redo everything but that would take a long time and I’m afraid this problem will happen again.
I don’t know how well I explained that but if anyone could find away to prevent or fix this problem, I would be deeply appreciative. Feel free to ask questions if I didn’t make something clear enough.

You didn’t get the message that the missing clips are offline?
What filetype are the missing files?

No I didn’t get any type of message – the only marks are the little squiggles from when I slowed/sped up the clips.
The file type is Windows Media Audio/Video (.wmv)

Update: I did a little inspecting and realized something that could be of some use to someone who knows how to fix my problem.
When I right-click on any of the “blank” clips and go to Properties->General, it gives me the information for the song I am using for the video instead of telling me it’s a video file of episode 17.

OK, that’s clear. An MP3 file with a bitrate of 320000 bps is too much for Vegas. Can’t you convert this to e.g .wav or .wma?

Could you clarify what you mean by “too much for Sony Vegas”? The sound file plays fine, and I don’t see what it would have to do with turning my video clips’ file information into my song’s file information.

According to your error message, the problem events contain MP3 audio with a high bitrate and the working events contain wma audio.
All editing software have problems with MP3 files with a high bitrate. This might lead to unpredictable results, even if they play well in preview.Theo
