    Hello,

Does anyone know if the following Laptop will work with SonyVegas Pro 9? I checked the specs of the Laptop against SonyVegas requirements and it “seems” to, but wanted to be sure! Thank you!

Toshiba 17″ Satellite L355-S7915 Laptop PC with Intel Celeron 900 Processor (250GB hard drive, 3GB Memory, Intel Celeron 900 processor
2.2GHz, 800MHz FSB, 1MB cache Processor, 3GB Shared Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM at 800MHz, Windows Vista Home Basic )

That single core Celeron 900 should be OK for standard definition work but not for HD. You really need at least Core 2 Duo for HD work. Also it will be slow rendering with only one core. I would try and find a dual core laptop.

    Good Morning,

Putting together large slideshows with high rez photos. Have come back to Vegas, because tired of Premiere Elements 7 Choking on large photos all the time. Will either build new i7 box with Win7 at 64bits when released or purchase 16-17″ laptop. The box would do HD, but my focus is really slideshows and I much prefer a laptop. Most current laptops in my price range are using the Core™2 Duo Processor T6500 (2M Cache, 2.10 GHz, 800 MHz FSB) processor. This processor is 64bit capable, but who knows what drivers will be available if they are delivered with 32bit Win7. I could build a state of the art box for $1,000, but a decked Dell XPS would run 1,500-2000. Toshiba & Sonys with T6500 are closer to the 1k mark.

Any thoughts on using 32bit T6500 laptop for complicated, large slideshows? Thanks, Kevin.
