Problem exporting avchd from Vegas Pro 9
Hi all, I am new here as all my previous problems I have been able to sort by browsing forums and searching web pages but this has me totally stumped.
The background – I have a Panasonic SD20 that records in 1920x1080i Pal AVCHD max 17mbps with 5.1 ac3 surround sound, my pc is a Q8200 quad core running vista 64 bit and I have vegas pro 9.0a and I use my PS3 for playback of all my media clips.
I have recently come back from holiday and edited in total 2 hours of footage which I have in 9 seperate projects (9 videos if you like). The problem is that no matter what settings/codecs I use I have only got one file to play properly on my PS3 and that was an mp4 using mainconcept codec but with only stereo audio.
The problem with the files are that they lose sync with the audio, especially after ff/rw. When i ff/rw the video then goes jumpy and too fast or too slow and i cant get it back in sync. It also does it over time when playing as well. The PS3 plays m2ts files fine so that is what i have been aiming for.
I would like to keep the 5.1 audio if possible so I have tried just about every way I can think.
I have tried exporting using a number of settings with the sony avc codec, I have tried exporting to uncompressed then encoding using something else, I have tried demuxing the successful mp4 to a video stream only and then muxed this with an ac3 export from vegas using TSmuxer to no avail. My latest attempt was to export from vegas using ligarith and then encode using xvid4psp again with the same results.
I am totally stumped and have spent weeks on this now and am thoroughly fed up. Has anyone managed to do something similar or can someone highlight what it might be?
Please help for the good of my health…
