Activity Forums VEGAS Pro blurry after rendering

I am bringing in an .AVI file that was shot professionally in SD into vegas 8 pro. the problem that I am having is that the preview window looks fine (although there are horizontal lines that show up when everything moves…but they don’t show up after rendering), but after rendering the entire video looks like it is hazy and blurry. Even when I put the sharpen feature to 90%, it still doesn’t sharpen it like it is on the preview.

PLEASE HELP! I have spent over 50 hours trying to fix this!

Which filters are you using on these clips apart from
sharpen and what format are you rendering out to?
But most importantly what are you playing it back on
when you notice this hazy and blury effect?

The only other filter I am using is a “dynamic noise” filter. I am rendering it as a MPEG2 file and burning it to a dvd. It also looks the same if I just play it in Windows Media Player.

    Hey all,
My version of this problem is this:

I want to render a particular sony vegas 8 project as a WMV. It keeps crashing at 28%, so I output as an MPEG. I use all the maximum quality video settings, but I get video that looks like it has a lot of TV interference in places – or like the “wind” horizontal blur effect that Photoshop has. Other parts of this project I have output in WMV and there is none of this.

Any ideas? Or is more info required?

…This is a great forum by the way, I have got so many tips from all you guys n gals.
    Thanks from Jono
