  can you clean a corrupted project file?

  Hi,
  This is kind of a continuation of an earlier thread where I had a problem with one video file that became blurry when I dropped it onto the timeline. I think now that it’s a problem with the vegas project file as I can drop it onto a new project file without a problem. So I’m starting this thread to ask how do you clean a project file – ie how can I keep all the editing I have done but copy that onto a fresh file. There only seems to be some corruption surrounding that particular .avi file within that particular .veg file. I’ve spend a good deal of time on this file and I’d rather not re-edit everything.

  Just to re-cap the original problem:
  I’m editing two .avi files together (two takes of the same performance)
  One of these becomes slighty blurred and over-contrasted when dropped onto the timeline
  It is a large file – 10GB (the other .avi was smaller)
  It was initially captured to an external HDD (whereas the smaller file was captured to an internal drive) but I’ve since copied it back and that makes no difference
  The video track, clip and original footage all have no effects or filters applied to them.
  When I scrub the clips from the problem file, the preview shows the video as it should be – in focus – then returns to blurry when I release the clip.

  Any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated as it’s beginning to do my nut.

  Stop press – I’ve found it.
  Somewhere along the line, the video file had a “glow” effect on it. I rebooted everything again and it showed up in Media FX.

  Not sure how this happened (I am absent minded sometimes, but I’m not stupid), but it looks like it’s solved the problem. Sorry for anyone racking their brains on this already.

  Tom, I’m very glad to hear that you finally got it figured out as I couldn’t see any reason for the blur on the other clip and therefore couldn’t offer any suggestions.
