  More DVDA Questions–(4.0)

  Hi guys,

  I am preparing a 50 min SD DVD movie with 24 chapter menus. There are a lot of Curves and Color Correction. Get this, the Render to MPEG2 16×9 was 11 hours….I mostly do work under 15 min..

  1. If I shot the footage in 24P, I also edited in 24P. Do I render to 24P OR the 29.97 DVDA default…. I want it to be 24P

  2. Why does DVDA do a secondary render for 2.5 hours? My Bitrate settings are JETDV’s- Again the movie is SD 50 min.

  8,000,000
  6,000,000
  2,000,000
  VBR
  Since its 50 min, it should fit on ONE disc.

  Why the Re-render?
  Should I consider setting up a Sony Render Farm? Can you point me to where that information is?

  1. On the DVD I have static Chapter frames, the background is a 30 second MPEG-2

  You want to render in 24p using the “DVD Architect 24p NTSC Widescreen video stream” template for 24p.

  Either the file is too big to fit on the DVD or the file is non-compliant. Those are the two reasons that DVD Architect would re-render the file. Since 50 mins will definitely fit on a DVD, I’d say you changed something in your render template that DVD Architect doesn’t like. Just use the standard 24p template and you should be fine.

  I rechecked my settings from the default and their were a few changes…. 24 pullodown 2-3 was not set on my settings….
