So I’m going to do a slide show. No video clips. Some titling and graphics and transitions. Using maybe 100 pictures that I will scan. For best results do I make an HD presentation or an SD presenattion. And what size do I scan the photos to? Should I use deinterlace or progressive properties? Will be projecting the slide show with a projector with 720p, 1080i and 1080p capacity. Which should I use? Should I show it from my laptop (a file) or from a DVD. Or I could use the WDTV HD. But if I use the HDMI out to get the HD video I won’t be able to get sound as it only will output Toslink and I don’t have a Toslink equipped audio player or amplifier. Any ideas?

I make all of my slide shows 1080-24p. No need to render 6 extra frames and no need use interlacing since all of your source is progressive. I scan at 300dpi but if the pictures are really small you might want to use 600dpi for the increased resolution. It’s too bad the projector doesn’t support HDMI audio. I would have said the WDTV was the best option. You might as well use your laptop and see if that plays back smoothly. Otherwise a DVD is your only (low-def) option.
