Text Background not Transparent?
Under the Media Generators tab then under the text tab. I drag and drop the default text onto one of my video clips. The background by default should be transparent. However, in the preview only the text shows with a black background, and it is set so that the background is transparent (alpha= 0) It also does that when I render the project. Any ideas on why it is not transparent (it would help if I could get a quick reply, because i am doing this for a video that I have to make)

Actually, that problem is fixed, now the problem is that when i render the video in best quality, the text bg isn’t transparent anymore, but if I render as draft then it becomes transparent. Any suggestions?

Check to make sure you didn’t accidentally create a keyframe or two on the text generator timeline.
What happens when it’s not transparent?
Does it go black, to a different colour, …? -
When it’s not transparent it goes black. There weren’t any keyframes,and just to make sure, I deleted the title track. Then I reinserted the video track (deleted what i had in there and reinserted) and then added the title track and the same problem occured.

Sorry but you’ve got me stumped as I’ve never heard of that behaviour before.
What version of Vegas are you using? -

have you changed any compositing modes anywhere, is the text on tracks above the other events, are there gaps in the events where you would see a black background…. just shooting out things off the top of my head, without a veg file or a clip of what you are seeing, I would dare say that most will have a tough time troubleshooting this for you.
