Hi. I`m working with HDV material (1920x1080x30i). the format is .m2ts
sony vegas works almost fine on best preview quality at the starting of the progect, but later,as the project grows (not adding effects, just cuts), the preview gets annoying,it freezes for a couple of seconds everytime i hit spacebar to play the edited material and it’s not realtime anymore. it doesn’t preview at 30fps.

what should i do? is it about codecs installed ? i istalled k-lite mega codec pack

    i have 4gig of RAM,intel quad core,2.83ghz,geforce 9800gt 1gb ram….where is the problem ? it’s giving me a whole lot of headaches,it’s wicked.

As HD projects get larger they do get a bit slower because they use more memory. I would avoid installing any “cocec packs” like the plague. This could cause applications to respond slowly because you may have replaced a very efficient codec with a very inefficient one. I assume it was slow before you did this so it’s probably not the problem.

You didn’t say what version of Vegas or what OS you are using. If you have very large HD projects you should be using Vista 64 and Vegas Pro 9.0 64-bit. This will make good use of all of your memory.

yeah,as a matter of fact,i am using Vista Ultimate x64 sp2 and Sony Vegas pro 9.0 i am really thinking to upgrate to 8GB of RAM,i think that would be a better solution. but still i need to work this out faster and soon.
