I am currently using the Cartoon plug-in for an effect in CS4 on my Mac 2 x 2.8 GHz Quad_Core with 10 GB of RAAM. When I change the resolution to Full or I try to render a dialogue box comes on saying “After Effects warning: A problem occurred when processing OpenGL commands.”

I turned off OpenGL in my preferences and when that didn’t work I took out the OpenGL plugin from my plugins folder and stuck it on my desktop.

Has anyone come across this problem?

    Thanks.

Yeah. In my rendering settings I made sure the ‘Use OpenGL’ box wasn’t checked and also in Preferences I made sure it was off and just in case I made sure it was off in my ‘Fast Preview’ box in my Composition window. After that didn’t work – I actually took the OpenGL Plugin out of the Plugin folder. I restarted the CS4 but after doing all that – and it still says ‘A problem occurred when processing OpenGL commands.”

in the advanced settings in the effect, disable opengl…. ae probably had a problem with the opengl commands, because you had disabled opengl (… and i’m not saying you should enable opengl)

That was the problem! Thank you.

Out of curiosity, what kind of GPU do you have and what are your settings under “OpenGL Info…” in your Previews preference pane?

My settings were at 245MB and everything category said it was supported and I was using the adaptive resolution at 1/4 — I think my GPU is an ATI Radeon HD 2600 XT.
