I posted this on the Sony site but no hits yet.

I rendered 19 frames out of Vegas Pro 9 using Image Sequence, edited them in Paint Shop Pro X2 and brought them back into Vegas using Import Media and checking the box for “Open still image sequence” and all worked well. The only thing that I noticed was that the image coming back in was a little soft. I added unsharp mask to fix it.

When I look at the 2 images (before/after) in PSPX2 they look the same but different in Vegas.

Does anyone have experience in this area and have any recommendations or input? I created png files. Is this just a matter of me adjusting the output quality of the image in Paint Shop Pro X2 so the image comes back in the same as it left or should I use a different file format or other workflow?

    Thanks,
    Harold

do you have your preview monitor set to full, best?

Yes, it is on best and the imported sequence is on the time line above the original video so I can toggle the track on and off to compare the two images. Unsharp mask applied to the imported sequence helps solve the problem but I would prefer not to have to do that. FYI – The project and preview are at the same resolution. My initial thoughts are that the export is softer since the 2 images look the same in PSPX2.

Must be something with the export of psp. Have you compairef the resolution and file size of the before and after of the png files? Is there a better export setting you van try?

I will try changing some of the settings in PSP and see what I can come up with.
    Thanks
