I just installed Vegas 9 and I’m looking forward to using it, but I’m sorry to see that it needs to rebuild all the audio waveforms in the project I was working on. In a complex project this can take a long time and now it will happen every time I open an old project for the first time in 9. Why can’t Vegas 9 read the audio waveform files generated by Vegas 8?

Mary, from the Pro 9 manual:
16-bit peak files are used for increased resolution.

It used to only be 8-bit peak files so you’re going to have to put up with this behaviour once again for any old project you open up 🙁

And even then, you have Vegas 9 now, so in no time at all
your projects will all be saved using Pro 9….alleviating
    this long wait.
