I have three tracks, all 3D Source Alpha. Track 1 has Composite Level of 100. Tracks 2 & 3 are lower (~30%). Track 1 has a keyframe that should position it front and center. I would expect (at the keyframe time) Track 1 to cover Tracks 2 and 3. However, I can still see parts of the images in Tracks 2 and 3 through the image in Track 1. I tried playing with the parent-child feature and it doesn’t appear to make any difference. I do notice that if I take the Composite level in Tracks 2 and 3 and drag them to 0 (zero), then the underlying images disappear. But I don’t want that, I want the portion that is not covered by Track 1 to appear, but the portion that is covered to be “gone”.

This works fine in 2D. What am I doing wrong? Thanks in advance.

Have you moved your track one forward in 3D space (Z axis)Otherwise they are all occupying the same space.

No. By Position, I assume you mean Track Motion, Position.Z (not Orientation.Z nor Rotation.Z). I set Track 2 and 3’s Position.Z to 50. I then set Track 1’s Position.Z to -10. I get the desired effect. If I leave Track 1’s Position.Z at 0, I get “image seep”. I.e., a difference of 50 between 1 and 2|3 doesn’t work. A difference of 60 does work. Is there some formula I can use to determine what range of Z values I should use?

    Thanks again.

You can add a 2D blank track in between the 3D tracks to keep them from interacting. Search help for “3D Alpha” and the explanation comes right up with a good visual example.

How about a screen shot of your Vegas program at the point you see the bleed through. I just tried to recreate your problem and could not. It worked just as it should.
