vegas is changing my video clips
I just started using vegas platinum 9b.
I experimented with a video clip and everything was fine. When I tried to work on the clip again the preview showed a clear video but the time line play showed a jittery shaky video.
Did I do something wrong while editing the first time. I didn’t render.sohail

Did you add any FX to the video the first time? You may just have added an effect that Vegas can’t preview in real-time. This is normal.

Thank you for the prompt answer. You are right. Every video file that I open will play fine in the preview window but not in the time line (video track).
I noticed at the end of each time line track there are two signs indicating an (event pan crop) and an (event FX).
How do I remove them?
Why do they appear in every video I place on the time line?

Make sure you didn’t accidentally mute your video track or click the Split Screen View icon.
The mute icon is in the track header and looks like a circle with a slash through it.
The Split Screen View icon is a 2-shaded circle on the upper left of the Preview Window.Those icons are there so that you don’t have to keep right-clicking the clip every time you want to go into Pan/Crop or apply a video FX.
In the Pro version, they can be turned off by going View – Event Buttons (Ctrl+Shift+C). -

I accidentally came across a poster talking about using cont plus shift when launching Vegas to reset it. That did the trick. Now viewing the video on the time line looks as good as the original.
What did I do initially to screw up the viewing? I like to avoid doing it.
Those two icons at the end of a video clip on the time line are still there, they are event pan crop and event fx. Are they always there and for every video clip I use on the time line?

Take a look at my response as I suggested some things that might be the cause for your problem.
I also addressed the event icon issue. -
If you click the video mute you don’t see the video. That wasn’t the problem. The problem was that I see the video but it was wavy and jittery and after I resetted the software that took care of the problem and I repeat my outstanding question. How to get rid of those icons at the end of the video clip on the time line.
