Coarse-grained pictures…?
Hi there
I am a noob working on a stopmotion music video in Sony Vegas 8 Pro. My problem is that when I have iserted my pictures and watch the preview the resloution of the pictures is horrible. I have tried rendering the video, and the resolution is still very coarse.
The original pictures are high resolution pictures…

how large are the pictures, and what preview settings are you using?

The pictures are 2576 x 1932
I found out that I used the wrong preview settings. But the pictures are still very coarse-grained when I export the video…? -
What format are you rendering to?
What are your render settings?
How are you viewing it? -
Actually I am not sure about which format to choose. I want to burn the video to a DVD. I have been told that I should use MPEG2, but I do not see that in the in the rendering menu…
So if you could tell me how my rendering settings should be, it would be really great! (I am using Sony Vegas 8 Pro)
I need the DVD tomorrow, so your help is very appreciated! -
First of all, how long is the video?

It is 11 minutes long, and it is only music and pictures from a digital camera

This is a 2-part process as the video is rendered (encoded) separate from the audio.
Here’s the video portion:
File – Render As;
Select MainConcept MPEG-2 in the Save as type dropdown box;
Select DVD Architect NTSC video stream or DVD Architect NTSC Widescreen video stream in the Template box;
Click Custom next to the Template box;
Change Video rendering quality from Good to Best;
Click the Video tab;
Move the Video quality slider to 31 (High);
Click the Constant bit rate (bps): box and set this value to 8,000,000.
To save this as a template, click in the Template box at the top of this screen, give it an appropriate name and click the Save Template icon (looks like a floppy disc).
BTW, this setting will work on videos up to 70 min. long.Now the audio portion:
File – Render As;
Select Dolby Digital AC-3 Pro in the Save as type dropdown box;
The Default template is fine for now.Make sure to give both files the same surname (i.e. myvideo.mpg & myvideo.ac3) and render them to the same folder.
That way, when you load the video file into DVD Architect, the audio file will follow it automatically.Burn your DVD using good name brand media.
Taiyo-Yuden and Verbatim are the two brands most recommended.
