  Tagging videos from Sony Vegas Movie Studio 9

  Hello,

  Is there a way to tag rendered video files from Movie Studio 9? I am primarily interested in .mp4 files. Does the file format support it? If not, what is the recommended way to tag the video files, without resorting to unwieldy long file names?

  Sorry but Media Manger (what you probably want) is a tool that’s only in the Pro version of Vegas 🙁

  I downloaded some freeware metadata editors last night. Some use a sidefile to store the tags, instead of in the mp4 file itself.

  I found one called mp3tag that added metadata to the mpeg4 video files. It worked well in adding text to the “Comments” field. VLC displays the comment field.

  I believe mp3tag also has an accompanying plugin to index for Google Desktop Search, so you can search your video files for ones with a particular set of tags; but I haven’t tried it.
