  Sony Vegas 8.1

  Just installed Vegas 8.1. Noticed that it is installed in:
  C:\Program Files\Sony\Vegas Pro 8.1

  whereas the prior 8.0c is in:
  C:\Program Files (x86)\Sony\Vegas Pro 8.0

  Seems kind of odd that the installer chose a different path. Does it matter?

  No, it does not matter…that is how 64 bit architecture
  handles 32 bit software when they are installed.

  Yes, I found that. Thanks. I must say … I’ve been an XP Pro SP2 user for years and for some things, I’m underwhelmed with Vista. On the other hand, I notice a 15+% increase in Rendering times (faster) with 8.1 compared to 8.0c. Does that sound consistent (expected)?

  yep…Thats correct. That rendering time sounds about right.

  I am using Vegas 8.1 and I stripped down Vista to run almost exactly like XP. I disabled all the visual effects and optimized it for editing. I am also getting faster render times…
