Hi, I need some help with the project setup and render settings. I am working on a film project shot on S16mm 25fps transffered onto digibeta. The editor is currently working on Avid at dv50. The project will be onlined into symphony at 1-1 to go back on to digibeta for projection in a cinema. How do I set up the project(comp size) and render settings for the final output and what would i need to change to render it out for the current edit in dv50. Also what would be the best way to render out alpha channel graphics for avid. Thanks Jan

These are all questions you need to ask the editor straight-up.

Don’t be afraid to ask, no one will think you are incompetent – quite the opposite. The editor is the ONLY person who can answer these questions accurately since they are managing the workflow (or at least know what the workflow will be). In fact, the editor usually knows these details better than the Producer.

They should have provided you with all that info upfront, that is how it is normally done, so don’t be afraid to ask!
