So you go through a timeline hitting “m” at all the points you need marked, be it for reference or dvd chapter stops or whatever, then your priorities change and suddenly you need to add new markers, keep old ones, delete others.

My question is, is there any way to select every marker and tell them to just renumber themselves in order? Call it OCD but I really hate seeing 1 followed by 18, 2, 9, 4, 20… If there isn’t, maybe that’s another feature Sony could stick in version 9 to give me a reason to upgrade.

    Try this:

    1. Select View | Edit Details
    2. From the Show: dropdown select Markers
    3. Click the left upper most corner to highlight the entire grid
    4. Type Ctrl-X Ctrl-V

That’s it. This will cut and paste all of the markers in your project in order again.

Wow, I never would have expected it to copy the markers but not the number associated with it. That’s a great solution, thanks!
