Video Not Being Recognized or Editable
hey guys and gals Happy New Year to all =)
I gots a problem…my sony Vegas isnt showing the videos i have in my folder i saved for it..but when it does read the audio i have in it…I tried one thing and that was converting a WMV to MPEG format and it did read it BUT…theres a but lol….it wouldnt let me edit it in the timeline…dunno where to post this so please dont kill me lol…what should i do?

First tell me what format these video files are in (if you can),
or where were they taken from?
This is common when you don’t have a specific codec installed
on your system to decode the video you are trying to work with.Steve Rhoden

Hi, I’ve got the same problem with Vegas 6.0
I’m using video files from my Canon Ixus which saves to my computer as an AVI file. Vegas will read the audio but not the video. Any ideas please? -

Even though it claims to be an AVI, odds are that the video clip uses an MJPEG (Motion JPEG) codec.
One solution is to install the trial version of the MainConcept MJPEG codec.
Supposedly it’ll read the file without displaying a watermark.
If you like it, it’s only $22 to buy it.
