Question re HDV editing process
Hi to all. I want to ask your opinions about my whole process for working with HDV material. Please feel free to comment or add suggestions how to improve my process. But please keep it fairly simple, because I do only my home videos, so I am not that tech savvy as some of you are here in this forum.
My camcorder: Sony HDR-HC7, (DV tape) and working with Vegas Pro 8.
My work flow: capturing from camera to vegas with project properties HDV 1080-60i (1440×1080, 29.970fps). This captures in .m2t format. I add these files to timeline and do all my editing with them.
For playback currently use Dvico Tvix M-6500A media player hooked to HDTV. It plays a lot of various files.( For some this player may not mean much, so to simplify things lets say I wath most of my final files through VLC player on my PC).
After a lot of rendering tests I chose to render using “HDV 1080-60i” template which saves as m2t file. Again I am not sure if this is the best format, so please if you have any suggestions on how to do better rendering without losing quality please do so.
Thanks
