How to adjust volume levels
I’m sort of a beginner when it comes to Sony Vegas, and as I haven’t had that much experience with the program, this problem might be very easy to solve.
I want to adjust the volume level of a clip that came with audio – meaning that I want to lower the background music, and increase the volume of the person who’s talking in the video. Is there an easy way to do this? Thank you.

If the audio is already encoded as stereo (the vocals are not separate from the background music) then you can go into the EQ (on the left under the link icon on the track header) and boost the mid-tones and lower the highs and lows and see what that gets you. You will have to play around with it to get something that is workable; plus it all depends on your source audio. You can also duplicate the track with the event and utilize the notch filters to boost the levels on the mids and completely cut out the lows and highs on the one track- that may or may not sound good depending on what your track is composed of.
