I’m having a problem with text pixelating when I render video files out of vegas. Whether the text is generated in vegas or imported from an external source, I keep having this problem. Even when I create outlines in illustrator, I get the same effect. Is there anything I can do to stop this from happening? Also, I heard something about having to use square pixels as opposed to 0.1 or 1.2; is this the case, or do I just need to make sure that the document in which the text was created matches the settings I’m using in vegas?

    What’s your source material?
Do your project properties match your source material?
What format are you rendering to?
What kind of font are you using?
One trick I learned a long time ago (thanks Spot!!) is to double the size of the text in the frame size boxes in the text event.
That is, if your project is 720 x 480 (SD NTSC), double it to 1440 x 960.

There’s a great article here on the Cow called Great Titles with the DV Codec that I suggest reading as the aouthor points out a lot of common pitfalls.
