I’m having a problem with Vegas Movie Studio 9 not showing part of my video that I want to edit, what it doesn’t show me turns up red.

I’m using the TSCC codec trying to edit some video that I captured with Camtasia.

Sometimes when I reload the program, it lets me see a little bit more of the video file that I’m editing, sometimes not. It’s never let me see the entire thing though. It shouldn’t be a RAM issue, as I’ve got 4GB (3.5GB) installed.

Here’s a screenshot of what it’s doing, very strange:

I’m hoping it’s a quick fix, anyone have any ideas?

Whenever you see that red, it means that the video file
is corrupt. You can restart and run the “disc check utlity”
and see if it fixes the problem.

    eg: start-run-(type in)chkdsk c:/f
then “y” enter and restart the computer.

What version of Camtasia? Are you recording to CAMREC files and then exporting AVI out of Camtasia Studio? I have seen this problem with that workflow using Camtasia 3. I now do all my recording directly to AVI files and have not seen the problem since.

I have seen red frames in the timeline when I used On Location to record HDV and mpg but not as m2t.
