Tracking or rendering question
Ok, I admit I am a bit of a Vegas rookie when it gets much more complicated than a straight slide show but here goes.
I have 8 Platinum and I understand I am limited to 4 video tracks in this version. My question is when you set up the paramaters for a track are they locked in for the entire production. Say I have 4 tracks. One I use as full screen, one the upper left quarter screen, one the upper right quarter, and the last the lower half. Is it possible to change that in the middle of the production to say have one track be the left half and another the right? I know the pro version would give me unlimited tracks but I’m small potatoes and I can’t afford the it.
If I can’t change the track settings I would think I could create smaller video segments using desired tracking options then combine the segments into a final production video. My problem there is I am losing a lot of quality. My final production is only NTSC Standard (720×486, 29.970 fps)but if I render at that and pull it into another NTSC Standard (720×486, 29.970 fps) video it looks like crap.
I tried playing with the template, many produced no video at all. Changing it to Default Template Uncompressed impoved it a bit but still not as good as the original. I’m thinking there is a setting that will work but I’m just shooting in the dark.
Any help would be appreciated.

If you are using track motion to move your tracks to the various areas you could use keyframes to move them back to normal or even to other areas if you desire. Yes, it would be easier with more tracks but it can still be done.

Thanks, I didn’t understand how to mark the keyframes for the entire track. You got me in the right direction and I figured it out.
