I import a Handy cam file at 1gb into vegas 8.0b, make a cut, and a few overlays. Using the make DVD wizard for export to DVD architect, the file size comes out as 2gb. I tried it as preview and draft, neither reduces the size. DVD Architect can’t optimize this file because it was rendered for use in the DVD. How do I shrink the file size?

Reduce the bitrate when you export it.
Sounds like you’re starting with a low bitrate file, and increasing it, if you’re starting with 1GB, not changing length, and ending with 2GB.

Do you change the bit rate in the properties? I don’t see a bit rate?

It sounds like you’re using Vegas Movie Studio, not Vegas Pro which, as I recall, means that you don’t have the option to change the bitrate 🙁

    That’s correct. Vegas movie Studio.
