Render / Exporting HD footage
Hello,
I’m new working with HD footage in Vegas Pro 8 so please excuse this newbie question. What is the best codec to render a project using HD or HDV files?
I know Vegas has quite a few codecs but I noticed that when I rendered a 2 min. test segment as an .AVI file and a QT file (3 Mpbs Video) the images looked somewhat “stretched”.
What is the best codec to use in Vegas for this purpose? I have used MPEG 4 to make my DVD’s in the past, but is there a better codec to use for HD footage? Also, are there any 3rd party codecs that are best suited for HD footage and the final DVD?
The video files I’m working with are:
1440x1080x12.29.97 fps interlaced / MPEG-2Thanks very much.
