Dalai Lama is not the only one giving up today. I’m going nuts trying to get my external TV OHCI Preview device to work in Vegas 8.0c.

It’s worked fine in the past. Under the preview device tab it says that the OHCI Preview device is a “hot pluggable device”, “device connected”.

I’ve tried unplugging and re-plugging, re-booting the cpu, turning off the cpu, changing the Vegas preview quality. Their is a video signal being received from the OCHI deck to the TV (blue screen with text), but nothing from the computer. Vista does give me the USB beep when connecting and disconnecting the deck.

The deck is an old JVC HR-DVS1U, and it’s doing the only thing it can before it becomes a boat anchor. Can everyone who uses a “non-camera” as a OCHI IEEE 1395 device to pass the signal from the Vegas timeline to a external TV for a preview device tell me what model you use and if it’s any good. I’ve considered the Black Magic Intensity Pro, but several posters have not gotten theirs to work in Vegas, and I don’t want to take a $300 gamble.

    Thanks.

I don’t think ieee nw is supported in vista. This is what I found:

[Applies to all editions of Windows Vista.
Which edition of Windows Vista am I using?

This version of Windows does not support using IEEE 1394 for networking. If you were using IEEE 1394 for networking, consider changing to an Ethernet network.]

Have you ensured that 1394 networking is disabled?
