I need M2T files transfered to DVD uncompressed
Hello everyone,
I’m shooting with the Sony HVR-V1U.
I’m editing on vegas 8.0c.
My final project is 24 minutes long, 4.10GB and is a M2T file.
Playback on Windows Media Player is superb!
I’m using Sony DVD Architect to build a DVD on a 4.7GB disc.
No matter what I do it recompresses the file and comes out half the quality and nowhere near the quality seen on standard DVDs bought or rented that are non-HD or Blu-ray. I should be able to achieve this same outcome. Can you recomend a rendering setting to take great HD edited footage with music to DVD without a second compression without loosing video color or sharpness just like SD – DVDs from Hollywood? I mean how do they do it? Do I need some other equipment or software? I have read tons of threads and nothing has touched this. Real discouraged, please help…Dave Duewiger

You should render your project from Vegas Pro 8 as MainConcept MPEG-2 using the DVD Architect NTSC/PAL DVD video stream template (whichever is appropriate for your location NTSC or PAL). Then create a separate AC3 Stereo audio file of the same name. This should give you outstanding quality on DVD and DVD Architect will not recompress the file.

Thank you John. This worked well. There was definately an increase in quality. I have rendered in this format but the difference is that I included the audio portion. I thank you for heading me in a new direction. I love finding new things in what I already have. Thanks to Vasst for all the help the past few years…
