  Part of music clip won’t render

  I’ve got a music track in my video which was an imported .mp4. I made two edits in it. The first edit is fine, but the second edit does not always preview properly (can’t hear it), and so far, I’ve never been able to get it to render. It just drops out entirely.

  What would cause that, and more importantly, how do I fix it? I’ve tried laying it on different tracks, but I get the same result.

  Vegas doesn’t work well with editing mp4’s. It’s not really an editing format, it’s a delivery format. Use a tool like Super (c) to transcode it to a different format like DV AVI that Vegas can edit.
