I’m working with a vegas 8.0c project with properties set to match the footage at HDV 1080-60i. Whenever I try to render a file that plays in the quicktime player like .mov or .mp4, the aspect ratio comes out 4:3 instead of 16:9. This happens no matter what I try in the custom render settings. For instance, if I change the pixel aspect ratio on the video tab in custom render settings. It seems I must be missing something simple. Why is this happening?

    thanks,

The Quicktime Player is notorious for ignoring the pixel aspect ratio and boldly assuming that the video has a PAR of 1.0. The only fix that I know of is to actually render with a PAR of 1.0 and adjust your resolution accordingly.
