How do I output to DV25/DV50?
Hello!
We just created a video for our product using a Canon Vixia HF10 in High Def and edited in Sony Vegas Pro 8. We have been asked by one of our clients to provide a copy of our video to them in either uncompressed or DV50 or DV25 on a DVD or USB drive. (they originally asked for Beta sp but can use the above as well)
I tried uncompressed and it was far too large (12GB) and it also did not look great since it had horizontal lines. I want to output to DV50 or DV25 but do not know how and do not see anything about this with Vegas 8.
Is there a way to output a video in DV25 or DV50 with Sony Vegas 8?

DV25 is regular DV. Vegas produces DV25 when you render to DV AVI. If you need DV50 then you must install a codec (like the Main Concept Pro DV codec) that supports DV50. Matrox use to have a free downloadble DVC25/DVC50 codec but the link no longer works so you may have to buy one.

Excellent, thank you. There are 5 or 6 choices for DV NTSC, how do I know which one is correct? (complete newbie here). (pulldown, widescreen, etc…)

Did you shoot and edit in widescreen 16:9? If so use the widescreen template. Did you shoot and edit in 24p? If so use the pulldown template. Otheriwse if you just want to make regular 4:3 DV select the NTSC DV template alone.
