Trying to get good renders for HDV to DVD..
Hello, I’m a newbie to HDV and am having a heck of a time trying to render the files from the vegas timeline. I have a canon HV30 and have footage shot at HDV30. I have been trying for the past two days to render using most every codec and have been getting horrible results.
I’ve tried mpeg2 using the DVDA NTSC codec and it looks dark and really interlaced. With the avi codecs (xvid, cinepak, & trial version of Cineform) it looks the same, really dark. I’m stumped. I made an HD render to quicktime (1280×720) and it looked decent. Kinda soft, but not as sharp as the preview footage in vegas.
Also it seems that the preview in the trimmer is wayyyy better than that of the timeline, meaning it is much more sharp and faster than viewing clips off the timeline. Why is that? Thanks in advance, Vic.
