    Howdy.

I’m going to try to be as clear as possible with this one – I have a project where I need it to appear as if text is trying to push it’s way through someones stomach. So essentially, I need to find a way to extrude the text to make it appear as if its pushing against the skin. I guess another way to visualize this is if you could imagine pushing your face against a white sheet and you would only see the curves of your face, kind of like the cover of the Frighteners –> https://www.fullhalloween.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2008/09/the_frighteners.jpg
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Cheers,
    Joe

If you have $199 to spare, Zaxwerks 3D Warps plugin can do this with ease. Give it a layer and then a displacement map and it will give you the effect you’re looking for.

Thanks for the response. I actually was hoping to achieve this effect without spending money on plugins, as I’m a student with zero budget….Are there any work arounds using the effects that come pre-packaged with After Effects?
