Is it possible in Vegas to draw straight horizontal and vertical lines with the mask tool. If not can i pre-draw a shape in another program to create a mask shape in Vegas.
    Thanks

You can easily make straight lines in Vegas with the mask tool, or you can use other tools to generate straight lines in Vegas, or you can draw them in say…photoshop or similar, save as a transparent PNG file…and import to Vegas

    Thanks Douglas
Can i make edible mask out of the png file so it can be animated with keyframes like a mask in Vegas. I want to draw an arrow(big wide arrow not just a line) then have it stretch and expand for various events in this project i’m working on. I know i can get the animation done in Vegas but I’d like to start with a nice uniform and symmetrical arrow. I’m having a hard time drawing a uniform arrow with the Mask tool.

what i would do is: find a nice arrow graphic on the web, then edit it and turn it into a png file with alpha channel. inport it into vegas and animate it with keyframes.

I’m with Charles on this one. I frequently use arrows that came with Windows and/or arrows that come with DVD Architect, but there are LOTS of arrows to be found. We often use clipart.com

If you use Adobe Illustrator, you will find several Arrow brushes that are great for using in a transparent file.

Look at the arrows in your Webdings & Wingdings fonts.
I’ve grabbed some from there in the past.
