I click on the Vegas 6 icon & get an unknown error message, I click else where & this box goes away. I have made sure that terminal service are turned off.

I tell the program to open a saved project that has several nested veg files & get a message that one of the files in a nested veg file can’t be found. Even though I know that the file mentioned isn’t in any of my veg files I nevertheless do a check by opening each veg file seperatly & checking the project media file for each veg file & delete any unused media from each project.

I then try to render out the entire project as an AVI. After about 5 minutes everything stops & I get a message that an exception error has occurred but that no details are available. Where do I start to try to fix these problems?

    Thanks in advance

I would start by rendering out to avi the individual nested files (if it stops in the first 5 minutes, your best bet is to start with any introductory media you may have on your time line and then move to the first nested veg).

If you render to avi you will get to keep the portion that rendered up to the point it stopped. This should give you a good idea of where the problem media lies.

Let us know what you find.

I did as you suggested rendering each veg file to separate AVI files. I then put all of the files together to make one longer file. At no stage did I have a problem or get a clue as to just what the original problem was since nothing appeared to be wrong or missing. I guess I’ll just have to put it don’t to the perversity of computers which appear to have minds of there own.

    Thanks in advance
