Strange timestamp/text appears on exported xvid avis
Hi guys, major problem here…I’ve been using Vegas for over a year and always export my work as Xvid avi files. Always looks fantastic. But suddenly, just last night, I tried exporting a new project and there is this bizarre stamp on the top left of the frame with rapidly changing numbers, and then another line of text below it.

Everything looks fine when exporting in wmv, and probably will work fine in any other format, but xvid exports are subject to this stupid text. Has anyone run into this issue before? Any suggestions on what might be causing it would be so much appreciated. I use Vegas 7. Thanks!

Sorry to say i haven’t.That embedded time-code is not coming from Vegas but if you did not mention it, i would have definitely said
it was your source footage.
Probably you can check the customizing of the xvid codec when you
are rendering to see if some action prompts this.
I don’t use xvid for a number of reasons so i cant be too specific
where this codec is concerned.Steve Rhoden

Hi…thanks, I actually seem to have figured it out. It was coming from Vegas – had to be, there’s no other option. The source footage was fine but the text appeared upon being exported so…don’t see where else it would be coming from. However, after a bunch of different options, I just tried resetting the xvid config stuff to default, and then readjusted it from there. Seems to be working now. Thanks anyway!
