  • How to use .vob file, need information…

I videoed a presentation about a fire trajedy. The speaker used a PowerPoint presentation for the main part of the presentation but he used a video (not in PP) at the beginning. He transferred the video to my external hard drive so that I could use it in the video. However the video was a .vob file and Vegas (7 or 8) will not import it and use it on the time line. I know that you can import directly from dvds and it can use those vob files as I have done that. What am I missing that it will not use this vob file from the hard disc?
I can play the file in Media PLayer Classic. I have even tried to use Super to convert the file to an .avi but I can’t get that file to work. Any ideas? TIA

    Adam,
    Thanks for the reply.
Yes I have tried that. It will import the file into the project media (at least it shows there). But it will not preview from there nor can it be placed on the time line or be opened in the trimmer.

Terry, try changing the extension from .vob to .mpg and see if that works.

    Mike,
I’ll try that when I get home tonight.

I have gotten the vob to work. Don’t really know how I did it. Did not have to change anything, just a new day.
