Black fade-out at a certain point!
Hi there everybody,
I have a question for you guys, and i’m hoping you can answer it.
I’ve composed and edited a Video in Sony Vegas 8, and at a certain part, it goes completely black.
(THE AUDIO DOES KEEP PLAYING)
And that entire part (from in this case 03:16 to 04:31) is all video.And from 04:31 to 04:41 i inserted 2 Text media’s and those are shown after the comlete black fade-out.
So, everything is shown up to 03:16 (Text-Media and video’s, audi etc.) but from 03:16 to 04:31 it goes black, and then only shows the 2 text-media’s i put in at the end.
Anybody have any idea what’s going on?

How do i Upload the .Veg file?
I do have the .Avi file, which i Could upload to youtube but that’s gonna take forever.

Can you see it on the timeline or is it black/blank there too?
If you can see it on the timeline draw a selection around one portion of the timeline that is affected and render just that selection to your preferred format (it only needs to be a few seconds long). Did that work?
If that did work then it would appear that your render did not complete correctly.
If it didn’t work, then you may have a corrupt file or problem with the encode settings. Try a different format or leave the settings on default and try again.
If you can’t see it on the timeline, then you may want to recapture your footage.

(THE AUDIO DOES KEEP PLAYING)You might want to try view that portion of video on your camcorder off of your tape. If you can’t see that portion that you recorded from your tape, then you have a bad tape. If you can view that portion from you recorded tape, then try to recapture into your computer.

Well, all video samples were taken off of other video’s that were already online ..
And there were several pieces inbetween the part of 03:16 to 04:31 soo ..

Do you know what format the video pieces were?
You obviously have them in a file somewhere. Can you click on them and view them from that file. Will they play in WMP. If not, you may have a codec problem. If thats the problem then download “Super” and drop the file in there. It will tell you what format it is and what codec you need to open it. -
Kind of sounds to me like it just might be some dropped frames in that video somewhere. I rarely get dropped frames on capture but it the rare case I do I just cut them out. To find them you’ll have to zoom in on the timeline so you see 1 frame at a time, then advance using the arrow keys until the video goes black. Then you’ll be able to see exactly what’s going on at that point.
You said you’re using video you got from the web? Did they play okay before you got them into Vegas?

Terry, I do have all of them stored in a map.
All of the files i took off of the internet were .AVI files.
