    hi

I am trying to use Vegas 7 with mp4’s from a new Sanyo Xacti camera.
The files play extremely jitterily (is that a word?). Audio is fine, video is stop-and-start. Therefore I can’t see the video frame by frame in order to edit. I shot in “something” (can’t remember) x 720, so I guess that’s high def.

I only have 505 or something useable RAM on my Toshiba laptop.

Can you tell me how to convert to another video format using Vegas, so I can try that? (I will also try shooting in a much smaller format to see if that helps).

    Thanks.

If you playback the video in vegas in mp4 format with a measly
500mb of memory on a laptop…you definately will encounter this.
the resources of your laptop is not powerfull enough to provide
real-time playback, “especially it seems you are editing HDV, which
requires even more resources to edit effectively in real-time.

However your rendered projects will not be jittery..its just the limitation of your laptop during playback.
