  What render file format for DVDA?

  When choosing a render format in Vegas for making a DVD with DVDA, why not choose MPEG-2 with video AND audio streams?

  This would be simpler than rendering separate video and audio files, and it does work. However, some of my DVD’s freeze up after running for 20 minutes or so. Could this problem be caused by not using “DVD Architect NTSC video stream” when rendering the project in Vegas?

  I’m not 100% sure but I believe that rendering out to a separate audio file produces better audio. The compression is better, file size may be smaller.

  If you render separate audio and video files, ac3 for audio and DVDA video stream for video, then DVDA does not recompress at all but only assembles your DVD. That is the advantage of rendering separate files for use in DVDA.
